It has come a long way.

30x30 oil on cotton duct canvas

This is of my Grandmother's cat who passed away 3+ years ago. That's when I started this and promptly became lazy! I gave it to her this weekend. She cried she was so happy (I think just to finally have it). Then she bought me a really expensive and really yummy dinner. Well worth it.

This was amazing as a WIP, so now...
So much colour and detail, leading your eye away from the face and towards the shadow, then the eyes bring you straight back again. I love this so much; a unique cat, and I can quite see why your Gran was so happy~! Well worth all the time you spent on it! :+fav:

Great brushwork - and think you have captured.... that aspect of cats... that those of us that are owned by at least one - know contains both there intelligent nature - and at times "dark" thoughts.

Wow, thank you. Unfortunately, a lot of the true color is lost. It looks so different in life. But don't all paintings.

Thank you! I just wish a digital camera could replicate the true colors.. this is so washed out.. one of these days i'll make some adjustments in photoshop
