A friend of my husband wanted to do zombie portraits of her wedding party but got no responses from the people that she had commissioned to do the work.
Just on a whim (and because I just purchased a new Wacom Bamboo tablet after I lost the pen for my old one in the move), I thought I would try my hand at a zombie portrait.
I'm hoping she will like this and commission me for the others of her wedding party. Since I don't have her permission yet, I may have to yank this later.
I usually only do photomanipulation in digital, so I am quite pleased with the results.
This took me 4 days at about 4 to 5 hours a night of experimentation before I was happy enough to call it finished.
I know it could use further refining, but you can only stare at the same thing for so long before the dirty clothes and dishes pile up and everyone starts yelling at you to come back down to the real world.
Gah.
Please critique this. This was my first true digital painting (I'm usually an oils and graphite girl).
And she's hungry. LOL ..I'm working on a double portrait for her currently for their wedding. She is a co-worker of mine. This was sort of my .. whats the word.. audition. Thank you for the fav!!!!! and the comment mean the world to me!!

What do you call a dog with no legs? Who cares.. He's still not coming.
You can't trust a Satanist. They get points for screwing you over.
It was a trial run for a wedding zombie portrait I am working on for a couple. They wanted to have guests sign the matte around it as their guest book.

"some people are like a slinky...not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs."
Very nice, especially for a first digital painting. I love the traditional feel it has to it though, a lot of manipulations like this are over-worked and it takes away the horror - this one's giving me a really cold stare that really works.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
